Upcoming Events!

Check here throughout the year for upcoming UArts events, including our June UArts Celebration event, showcases, and holiday party.

Happy Sesquicentennial! Feb. 26 of this year marked the 150th anniversary of the founding of UArts. The Pennsylvania Museum & School of Industrial Art was founded on Feb. 26, 1876.UArts used the 1876 founding date because when Philadelphia College of Art (PCA) and Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts (PCPA) merged in 1985, PCPA was legally dissolved, and UArts operated under the 1876 charter.

Join us Sunday, June 6th, at the Village of Industry and Art for a UArts Community Day hosted by Scout as they welcome us back to Hamilton Hall at 320 S. Broad!

If you were ever part of UArts — as a student, faculty member, staffer, collaborator, neighbor, or friend — you are welcomed back (always) but especially on Sunday, June 7th, to reconnect and see what’s taking shape inside the building now as the Village of Industry + Art (VIA). This gathering is presented in collaboration with the UArts Alumni Advisory Council as part of ongoing efforts to keep the UArts community connected to Hamilton Hall and its next chapter.

As you return, we’re excited to share a few things you won’t want to miss:

• UArts Alumni Advisory Council members available to share ways to stay connected and involved with the alumni community ℹ️

• Open studios + open doors throughout the building 👋

• Lobby exhibition: 🗑️ Don’t Trash a Good Thing by UArts alum and faculty member Kay Healy, featuring a memory-driven origami bookmaking 📖 demonstration.

• Gallery: Monument Lab pop-up in the gallery featuring exclusive merch + Sasha Stiles' 🤖 A Living Poem: The Codex

• Screening Room: Art school inspired films 📽️

• Drinks, mingling, and music at Frankie’s Summer Club 🍹in the former Furness courtyard 🌳, with DJ spinning all day 🎶

More than anything, it’s a chance to bridge the old and the new: reconnect with the community that made UArts special and celebrate the people who continue to create, gather, experiment, and build.
